Praise the Lord, pass the ammuntion..take a vacation.

They are at it again, yep those pesky members of Congress are upset that the Iraqi legislator is planning to take a summer vacation! The length of their vacation will be a whole two months. Its not like they are doing anything, they certainly aren’t trying to fight a war or anything but it seems to have Congress’ panties in a bunch. Congress’ recess by the way is schedule for August 6-31 for the House and August 6-September 3 for the Senate. Why should Congress get a break when they are waging two wars, one in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. Granted the breaks for the House and Senate aren’t nearly as long as that of the Iraqi legislator, but still it’s like the pot calling the kettle black. They have more important things to do like funding a war, stealing American tax dollars, playing God with American lives at home..you know the simple pleasures in life. But no for some strange reason the Congress seems to think what the Iraqi legislator does is far more important than doing their own jobs. Between complaining about the Iraqi break, and campaigning year round for their jobs I don’t think that the House is really doing their job. Oh wait, that’s right, I almost forgot that the McCain-Feingold Act has basically made our country into a hereditary oligarchy! In the whole two years they serve I doubt a single one of them actually does their job, instead they hire some poor 20 something just out of college to do their job for them. Ladies and Gentlemen of the Congress, your job is to maintain America and declare war and to approve treaties with foreign nations, let your President do his job by managing those treaties and doing what is necessary to make sure they are upheld. Maybe we ought to get together and send our Congress men and women copies of the United States Constitution with various parts of each article highlighted, maybe even footnoted, so they know what their job is and what their job is not. I am seriously considering doing this for both of my senators and my representative, after all the latter was a former gynecologist I highly doubt he has ever heard the word Constitution before.
